Privacy Policy

Summit is operated by an individual developer in Canada. We do not have a corporate entity, registered business name, or employees — just one person building the ring and the software. We are not a medical device manufacturer and have no healthcare partnerships or third-party capital.

This policy covers two separate things: the Summit Ring app for iOS, and this website. They are not connected. The website has a database and holds your email if you joined the waitlist; the app has no server at all and holds nothing off your phone. Neither one can see the other’s data.

The app sections below are the text shown inside the app under Settings → Privacy Policy, so there is one policy rather than two that can drift apart.

The website does one thing: it takes waitlist sign-ups. When you submit the form we store the five fields below and nothing else.

How long we keep it. Until you ask us to remove you. There is no scheduled deletion beyond that — if you want your record gone, email us and we will delete the row. We will not keep a copy.

Where it is stored. In a Supabase database hosted in Canada (ca-central-1). Supabase is our data processor and does not use the data for anything of its own.

What we don’t do. We don’t collect your name, your location, your device type, or your browsing history. We don’t run analytics and we set no tracking cookies. We don’t sell, rent, or share this data with anyone. There is no advertising profile being built on you, here or anywhere.

Summit has no account, no server, and no cloud database. Every score, trend and insight is computed on your iPhone from data your ring sends it. Nothing about your health, sleep or heart rate is ever transmitted anywhere by this app.

Heart rate, heart-rate variability, blood oxygen, sleep stages, steps, distance, stress, and battery level — over Bluetooth, directly from the ring to your iPhone. This never touches a server Summit operates, because Summit doesn’t operate one.

Readiness and the other scores are not read from the ring. They are calculated on your iPhone from the measurements above.

All of the above, plus the profile you enter (age, height, weight, sex) and your preferences, in a file inside this app’s private storage on your iPhone. iOS backs this up to iCloud or your computer exactly like any other app’s data, under your control — Summit has no separate access to it.

Off by default. If you turn on Settings → Apple Health, Summit both reads and writes through HealthKit: it reads workouts, active energy and heart rate logged by other apps (like Apple Watch) so they show up alongside your ring data, and it writes sleep stages, heart rate, HRV and blood oxygen so other apps you’ve authorized can use them.

Steps are deliberately not written — your iPhone already counts those, and a second source would double them. This is governed by Apple’s own Health privacy rules, not Summit’s.

Used only to compute local sunrise and sunset, so the greeting and background match the real time of day. The coordinate is processed on-device and never leaves it. Summit does not store your location history, and does not use location for anything else.

Optional, and limited to what you’d expect: a morning summary, a nightly reminder, and a ring-disconnected alert. No marketing, and nothing sent through a push service that would see the content.

None. Summit makes no network requests of any kind — there is no analytics, no crash reporting service, no advertising, and no content delivery. Turning off every network connection your phone has changes nothing about how this app works.

The app keeps a technical log of what it has done — connection attempts, sync results, errors — so that when something breaks you can show us what happened. It never leaves your phone on its own: there is no automatic crash reporting and no telemetry.

If you choose to send us a log, you copy it yourself from Settings and paste it into an email, so you can read exactly what you are sending. We use it to diagnose your problem and delete it once the issue is closed.

The app does not check for or install ring firmware updates. If the ring ever gets a firmware update, it will come through a separate channel — not this app.

Deleting the app deletes everything Summit stored. There is nothing left behind on a server, because there is no server.

The waitlist is the one exception, and it is separate: it lives on this website, not in the app, and deleting the app has no effect on it. To come off the waitlist, email us — see below.

PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act): You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you. Write to support@summitring.shop with your request and we will respond within 30 days.

Quebec Law 25 (Bill 64): If you are in Quebec, you have additional rights around data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (CAIQ). Your rights are the same as above; we will honour them.

CASL (Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation): If we email you, the message will include our identification and a working unsubscribe link. You can opt out of all communication at any time by clicking that link or by writing to support@summitring.shop.

Age requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to use Summit. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Summit Ring is not a medical device. Readiness, sleep, HRV, stress, and other metrics are estimates for general wellness only. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. Always consult a healthcare provider with any medical concerns.
